Christ Church Milton is a long established Anglican Parish Church in an inner suburb of Brisbane. In the church grounds are a Rectory (built in 1883) and a timber Church (erected in 1891). Just next to the Church is a ‘Memorial Reserve’ which contains headstones and graves which were formally part of the Paddington Cemetery. The Parish was established in 1873 and has been the focal point for the Anglican Community in the Petrie Terrace, Milton and Paddington area since then.

Christ Church Community Precinct Milton refers to the Church, the Old Rectory building, the grounds between the buildings, BCC Christ Church Reserve and the Paddington Cemetery Memorial Reserve located behind the Church.

Vision

Christ Church Community Precinct Milton's vision is to be a place of harmony and sanctuary, where people are welcomed to explore their quest for physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. This continues the tradition of responding to community needs since 1873.

Mission

The Community Precinct is a unique accessible quiet space; whose mission is to:

  • build communities through partnerships with organisations,
  • empower people from differing social-economic and cultural backgrounds to build physical, mental, spiritual and social capacities and develop human potential,
  • generate an income to sustain the Community Precinct's projects by making the space available for hire.

Values

The Community Precinct values:

  • the stories and sacredness captured in the unique collection of buildings and spaces in its domain.
  • people's individuality, differences, and uniqueness; their rights to be themselves and their capacity to be the best they can be.
