Terms and Conditions
Function Rooms and Grounds Capacity
The seating capacity of the Hardman-Perry Room (Old Rectory function rooms) is 40 - 50 seats and the outside grounds is 160 – 180 seats buffet style, more for a cocktail party.
Church Building
The Church building is also available for hire: concerts, recitals, appropriate theatrical productions or similar events. Rates and conditions other than those for the heritage-listed Old Rectory facilities and grounds apply. Please enquire at the Parish Office.
Tables and Linen
Tables are either rectangular in shape and seat a maximum of 8 persons per table or rounded in shape and seat a maximum of 5 persons per table. Choose from a range of tablecloths available at the Precinct.
Floral Decorations
Floral arrangements and decorations per table are available upon request, cost starts from $25.00 per table. Please inquire at the office for more details.
The Use of the Kitchen
When hiring the heritage-listed Christ Church Community Precinct (Church Building included) or the Hardman-Perry Room (Old Rectory function rooms), the use of the kitchen is included in the Hire Charges. Use of stocked cutlery, crockery, glassware, etc, is also included in the Hire Charges; charges apply where additional equipment needs require outside hire and provision thereof.
The kitchen is not licensed and consequently no food preparation is allowed before, during or after functions. The hirer indemnifies Christ Church Community Precinct Milton for any incidents or accidents caused due to the use or misuse of the kitchen facility.
The kitchen and associated equipment are to be left clean and tidy.
Catering Services & Equipment
The Precinct can provide various levels of catering to suit your budget; details available on application and/or by contacting the Precinct’s preferred catering service, Plates & Platters Catering, www.platesandplatters.com.au. Alternatively, it is permissible for hirers to choose and organise their own catering.
There is extensive catering equipment available; additional charges apply where equipment beyond the Precinct’s Inventory requires outside hire and provision thereof. [Equipment Inventory list & order forms available through the Office.]
Alternatively, hirers may choose to organise their own catering equipment.
Hirers would be liable for any loss or breakage.
Furniture, Fixtures and Other Equipment
All furniture is to be returned to its original position. The hirer is liable for any damage or theft of fixtures, furniture and equipment during the time of hire. Please make sure to lift all furniture (do not drag) to avoid damaging the floor.
Car Parking
Free parking is available in Chippendall Street (Time restrictions apply). Extra parking is available in surrounding streets.
Transport
Milton railway station is 5 minutes away. For Transport information, contact TransInfo on 13 12 30.
Disability Access
Disability access to Christ Church is off the driveway. Wheelchair access to the grounds and the function rooms is available next to the main entrance in Chippendall Street. A disabled toilet is located under the Church.
Levies and Surcharges
- Sundays and public holidays attract an additional 20% surcharge.
- Public Liability available; fees apply. (Details available through the Office.)
- A cleaning and rubbish collection fee is included in the hire charges applicable to all functions and use of Precinct facilities.
- Damaged or broken items must be reported, costs may apply.
- For after hours access, a $50 refundable deposit is payable for the key. The key is to be returned by 10am the day after the function.
Alcohol Service
It is the hirer's responsibility to acquire the appropriate licenses and comply with the requirements of the Liquor Licensing Division, Department of Tourism, Racing and Fair Trading. For further information, contact the Department on 07 3224 7024.
Christ Church Community Precinct Milton is not responsible for any alcohol sold or supplied during the function.
Sales and Sub-Contracting
Sales of any kind are not permitted without prior approval from the Management Committee or their representatives. Under no circumstances can the hirer sub-let the premises.
Damage or Loss
While Christ Church Community Precinct Milton exercises great care to ensure the safety and well being of the hirer's guests and their property, the hirer indemnifies Christ Church Community Precinct Milton for any personal injury or property loss caused by the hirer or by the hirer's guests before, during or after a function. As such, it is the hirer's responsibility to arrange the appropriate insurance cover.
Heritage Restrictions
Due to the heritage nature of the Old Rectory building certain restrictions are applicable:
- Smoking is not permitted inside the buildings.
- No items are to be pinned, glued, taped or attached in any way to the walls, floors, doors or ceilings.
- The use of helium balloons, rice, confetti, water bubbles, smoke machines, and indoor fireworks are prohibited.
Confirmation of Booking
Tentative bookings will be held for 7 days only. If no agreement is signed and no payment is made by the due date, the tentative booking may be cancelled.
Cancellation of Booking
- Cancellation requires a 7 days notice for the hirer to receive a full refund.
- Cancellation of 3 to 7 days—the hirer will be charged 10% of all agreed charges.
- Cancellation of less than 48 hours—the hirer will be charged 50% of all agreed charges.

Please note that credit card/EFTPOS facilities are held at the premises. Payment may also be made in cash or by cheque paid to:

Authorised Persons Accessibility
Christ Church Community Precinct Milton personnel shall at all times be entitled to free access to all parts of the building during the hire period.
Christ Church Community Precinct Milton may stop any activities or functions, without reimbursement, should any of the above-mentioned terms and conditions be breached.
Christ Church Community Precinct Milton reserves the right to review all Terms & Conditions and Applicable Hire Charges without notice.
